Salary to Hourly Calculator

Convert your annual salary into an hourly rate, or your hourly rate into a yearly salary — accounting for the hours and weeks you actually work.

Taking 2 weeks of unpaid leave? Use 50 weeks instead of 52 for a more accurate number.

Fill in your numbers and hit Convert to see the equivalent rate.

How this calculator works

This tool converts between annual salary and hourly rate using a simple formula: your pay divided by the total hours you work in a year (hours per week × weeks per year).

A few things worth knowing:

  • Default assumptions: we assume a standard 40-hour week and 52 working weeks per year unless you change them.
  • Paid time off: if your salary already includes paid vacation, use 52 weeks. If you're estimating based on hours actually worked (excluding unpaid leave), lower the weeks accordingly.
  • This is gross pay: these numbers are before taxes. For your actual take-home amount, try our Take-Home Pay Calculator.
